Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has a muscle problem and may or may not play in tonight’s Premier League match against Manchester City.
The Ghana international has been in training and will be available to play on Tuesday at the Emirates Stadium against the league’s finest club.
His recent injury forces him to miss this one. Although it appears that the injury is not life-threatening, it is nevertheless a big setback for Arsenal before a game that might determine the course of their season.
29-year-old defender Partey has started 18 of Arsenal’s 21 league games this season.
He’s the latest player to join the long list of injured players that also includes Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, and Gabriel Jesus. Midfielder Mohamed Elneny’s departure from the club was announced just now. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace hosted Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan from the club back in January.
Mikel Arteta went out and signed Jorginho from Chelsea as a replacement for himself.
The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League since January 22. (when they defeated Manchester United by a score of 3-2). Manchester City would take over first place in the league from Arteta’s squad with a win, despite having played one more game.
